Cancer changed everything.

It shook the ground beneath me and left me trying to find my footing again. {Not an exaggeration. Just the truth.}

My sense of what mattered changed.

The ground I stood on felt less certain.

Work, health, and certainty took on a whole new meaning.

The photos in this post show different versions of me across cancer.

Different stages. Different energy. Different realities. You name it.

My somewhat tidy story unravels here.

Diagnosis and treatment can look the same, but lived experience never is.

That’s why this year’s World Cancer Day theme, “United by Unique,” matters.

Cancer care isn’t just data. It’s people and care shaped around the individual.

Crucial. Necessary.

But if we want it to work, we have to listen to the people whose worlds have already been turned upside down.

They understand their own needs and limits, and their perspective matters.

Unity isn’t sameness. It’s space for difference.

Awareness must lead somewhere.
